The contrasts are not over yet; on the other side of things, the Atlas Mountains stand tall with all their might and glory. A total of 1000 kilometres of hills lined with highland meadows, gorges, ridges, Berber villages, and forests.

Best Time to Visit Morocco

Morocco typically receives plenty of sunshine throughout the year, so people from the UK would love it year-round. Just 4 hours away from Morocco, you have the option of going on Turkey holidays with similar weather conditions. As far as the mercury figures in Morocco are concerned, the temperature drops to its lowest at 16°C in January and February and reaches the maximum of 44°C in July and August. There is very little rainfall throughout the year, so you don’t have to worry about getting wet while outdoors, but you might see occasional snow in the Atlas Mountains in the winter.

Overall, the best time to visit this beautiful country is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) for UK people, as the weather is warm and best suited for outdoor adventures and sightseeing. If you want to take part in Morocco’s festive season, then December is the best time to visit. The weather is pleasant during the day with cooler nights. If you aren’t bothered by a bit of rainfall, then pick January and February. These months can be a bit cold as per the liking off UK travellers, but if you want travel deals at cheap prices, then this is the perfect time to book your Morocco luxury holidays.

Regardless of the time you pick to travel to Morocco, we are here to help you with our top-notch tour packages. If you don’t know when is the best time to visit Morocco, our booking agents will explain the conditions for every month.

FAQS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Tamazight and Moroccan Arabic, also known as Darija, are the two official languages here. However, French is taught in schools and is known as a second language here. English is also spoken in most areas of the country.

Though you can see both Western and local attires here, it is appreciated to wear modest dress especially when visiting rural areas or places of religious significance. In case of sunny weather, you should wear loose clothing to beat the summer heat.

To avoid any kind of sickness, it is preferred not to consume tap water. You can opt for bottled water found at local shops here, that doesn’t cost too much and is safe to drink. In the relatively popular cities here, tap water is safe to drink, but for those still concerned, it is better not to take any risk.

Here, you are going to witness a mix of weather. Though it will be scorching during the summer, the months of October and February will be much more pleasant. In some areas, like the Sahara, at night the temperatures may reach as high as the 80s or as low as the 40s.

Tipping is not a compulsion here; however, a little bit of generosity is always appreciated. Many of the people leave some change before leaving, as a symbol of tip, to appreciate any specific service they liked.

In most modern villas, hotels, riads, and restaurants of Morocco, there are typically contemporary flushable toilets available. However, in rural areas, public toilets, and smaller restaurants, there are mostly squat toilets. It is suggested to carry toilet paper and sanitizer as it is not always provided.

The word riad comes from the Arabic word for garden. It is an orthodox house built around a central patio garden. The room windows open to the central patio that helps keep the house cool in summer and warm in winter. A stay here after spending a hectic day serves as a wonders for the tourists, letting them enjoy their Morocco luxury holidays to the fullest.

The right time depends on the purpose of your visit. If you plan to visit Morocco to explore different regions, then the best time is from March to May and from September to October. All the major tourist areas, like Marrakech, Fes, the Atlas Mountains, Berber Villages, Essaouira, and the Sahara, have a moderate temperature. If you want to engage in outdoor adventures, the right time to visit Essaouira starts from March and continues till September. For hiking and exploring the Atlas Mountains, the spring season (March to May) is the best option. Hot air ballooning and dining under the stars in the Sahara are great during the cooler months, particularly from November to February.

Morocco is only 4 flight hours away from the UK, allowing Britons to plan short holidays as well. While a day trip is quite impossible to execute, a long weekend will do the needful and give you a fantastic experience. However, it will not allow you to explore the true potential of the country, so we suggest you book a 7-12 days’ Morocco holiday package.

Morocco is a blend of various cultures and civilisations, including Arab, Berber, African, and European. In Marrakech, you see Arabic influence through its architecture, souks, mint tea, and handcrafted goods. The coastlines have a bohemian touch with artistic, unconventional, and free-spirited living, making them quite a relaxing Morocco holiday destination. As you go towards the Atlas Mountains, you will see Berber villages and ancient kasbahs.

Absolutely. Morocco is an amazing place for a family holiday. The people are quite welcoming towards tourists with families. Despite being quite near to the UK, Morocco presents a totally different scene from the one at home. Our booking specialists have carefully included family-friendly hotels, activities for kids, and various other amenities specifically crafted for families.

Yes. The mountain ranges are divided into three different ranges: the High Atlas, the Middle Atlas, and the Anti Atlas. Among the three, the High Atlas is most popular among trekkers.

Although there is not a defined dress code, you must wear clothes as per the custom of the country. Morocco is an Islamic country, so it is better for women to avoid wearing short skirts or tops that don’t cover shoulders. Similarly, men must avoid taking off shirts in public. If you are visiting a mosque or religious sites, make sure to take off your shoes. The dress requirements become a lot easier when you visit beaches or 5-star hotels.

Yes. You can have alcoholic drinks only in licensed bars, hotels, restaurants and shops. It is better not to drink in public places that are not licensed.

There are plenty of options to travel during your stay in the country. If you are on a budget, you can take buses. They are quite popular among the locals and tourists alike. And these are no ordinary buses; we are talking about full AC cabins with comfortable chairs. If you don’t want to walk to the bus stop, you can book a taxi. These are great for getting around the city or town, but they can be costly. So, check that the driver turns on the fare meter before you start your ride. For intercity travelling, train is the best option. The Moroccan government operates a well-maintained network of trains that is economical, modern, and a great way to travel between cities.
